Hamilton Federal Bank Wins Multiple Honors

In a banking world dominated by too-big-to-fail institutions, locally based Hamilton Federal is already noteworthy for having remained an independent community business for nearly a century.

Headquartered in Baltimore with branches in five locations, including Cockeysville, Hamilton Federal has also recently received multiple regional business accolades:

  • Placing seventh on the Baltimore Small Business Administration Lender list, based on dollar amounts of loans to area small businesses from October 2010 and September 2011
  • SmartCEO Smart 100 recognition for Bob DeAlmeida, President and CEO of Hamilton Federal
  • A SmartCEO Future 50 award, which recognizes Hamilton Federal as one of the 50 fastest growing businesses in the region

According to the bank, among the factors in its rapid growth has been the launch of retail and commercial lending services that have more than doubled the size of Hamilton Federal's commercial loan portfolio.

Based on financial data as of June 30, 2011, Hamilton Federal has also been assigned a prestigious five-star rating from Bauer Financial, a company that assesses the safety and soundness of banks and credit unions.
