Hunt Valley, MD--Systems Alliance, a Web and IT consulting firm based in Hunt Valley, has announced that Legg Mason IT executive Tom Shipley will join the company as vice president in January.
"Across industries, IT has never been more integral to the success of an enterprise, yet today, experienced IT leaders with deep skills are in short supply," said Ric Hughes, president and CEO, Systems Alliance. "I'm very proud to announce that Tom Shipley will be joining Systems Alliance and believe he will be a tremendous asset as a member of our executive team and for our clients who rely on us for CIO advisory services and IT strategy expertise."
Shipley, who is currently managing director of core services for Legg Mason, has amassed over 25 years of experience leading IT organizations, notably in the financial services sector. At Systems Alliance, he will collaborate on the development of business strategy and oversee the company's IT staffing and recruiting business, internal IT operations and client-facing managed services. He will also provide clients with CIO advisory services.
Before joining Legg Mason in 2007, Shipley served as CIO and chief technologist for Ferris, Baker, Watts and as principal and manager of information systems for Alex. Brown & Sons. Previously, he served as vice president of technical services for Union Trust Bank in Baltimore.
"As I evaluated my next move after Legg Mason, Systems Alliance stood apart from other IT consulting firms in the greater-Baltimore market, both for the quality of its work and the caliber of its consulting clients," said Shipley. "I am excited about joining the Systems Alliance team and helping clients address their most pressing people, process and technical challenges."
IT has never been more integral to the success of an enterprise, yet today, experienced.
